YourTurn is a group that plays “hobbyist” board games (see my library link for the types of games played). It meets Tuesday evenings in my home at 6:30PM. Participants take turns, as the “Voice of the Meeple,” to select each week’s game. Members may select from their own or a fellow player’s collection.

If a game is of medium or heavier weight players prepare beforehand (typically watching a tutorial video). Learning the game beforehand lets us get straight into the fun and avoids playing late on a weeknight.

  • Players only need to understand the basics. Rule clarification questions are still expected during gameplay. But prior exposure to the rules allows us to ramp up learning because players reexperience the rules in context.

  • If the setup is significant, the game owner can arrive 30 minutes early. Also, factions can be selected in advance.

  • Expansions, variants, and player-counts can be leveraged to ease AP or duration as necessary.

  • The owner is traditionally first in turn order to demonstrate flow if the other players are new to the game.

  • We meet in my house, so it’s a clean, family-friendly, and casual vibe

  • RSVP via a post in the Your Turn, Canton Facebook Group. You will then be added to the YourTurn group chat in Facebook Messenger.

  • Check out the FAQ or reach out with your questions if they’re not covered there.
